March Field Airfest: MAY 19-20

High flying action takes to the skies over March Air Reserve Base in Riverside at the March ARB Airfest May 19-20. The March Field Airfest will host the USAF premier team the Thunderbirds and the civilian jet team the Patriot Jet Team. The Airfest will also feature solo performances from the U.S. Marines in an AV-8B Harrier Jump Jet, F-18 TACDEMO, Globemaster III C-17, KC-135 Air Tanker, DC-10 Water Bomber, Smoke-N-Thunder Jet Car, and civilian acrobatic performers. Gates open at 8am and close at 5pm. Parking and admission are free. To get to March ARB, exit the I-215 at Cactus in Moreno Valley. Upon entry there is a mandatory metal detection and bag search. No coolers, pets, bicycles, glass containers, alcoholic beverages, EZ ups, skateboards, or roller blades are allowed into the Airfest. For more info, click here.

Stroll for a good cause

The 9th annual STROLL ‘N’ ROLL Wylie Center Fundraiser Walk will be on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 9am – Noon at Shamel Park located at 3650 Arlington Avenue in Riverside. Family fun activities will include entertainment, autographs from “Glee” star Lauren Potter, facepainting, carnival games and jumphouse. Yummy food will be sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Riverside. Farrell’s is back!

“The Pig Trough”, “The Mount St. Helen, and “The Zoo.” Yes ice cream lovers, “Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour” has come to the Inland Empire! The very same Farrell’s you have known and loved since 1963 is back, and serving up Rancho Cucamonga amazing sundaes. You know this place is different as soon as you walk in. Candy store on the left, old fashioned ice cream parlor on the right, and singing waiters eager to entertain you. What? Singing waiters? Singing, dancing, piano playing, and skit performing servers. Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour is located in the Terra Vista Town Shopping Center at 10742 Foothill Blvd in Rancho Cucamonga. Check the website for additional locations and hours. Fair warning: The Inland Empire is showing this place a lot of love and gets extremely crowded nights and weekends. Be prepared for long waits. For more info, click here.

Easter Egg-Citement

Hop on down the bunny trail for an “Eggstra-Special” family fun day filled with adventures and surprises at the Annual Easter Egg-Citement event on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 11am to 2pm at Chino Hills Community Park located at 3280 Eucalyptus Avenue. They’re having an Egg Decorating Contest so start thinking of creative designs for your egg and bring your finished egg for judging on the 7th. Enjoy fun crafts and yummy treats too.
