Easter Egg-Citement

Hop on down the bunny trail for an “Eggstra-Special” family fun day filled with adventures and surprises at the Annual Easter Egg-Citement event on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 11am to 2pm at Chino Hills Community Park located at 3280 Eucalyptus Avenue. They’re having an Egg Decorating Contest so start thinking of creative designs for your egg and bring your finished egg for judging on the 7th. Enjoy fun crafts and yummy treats too. The Chino Hills Trail Run Series is a perfect way to take the first step into the exciting world of trail running. Explore one of Orange County’s premier natural open-space parks while you discover the trail runner in you. If you’re already a seasoned trail runner, the Chino Hills Spring Trail Series is a great way to step up in distance and aim for your first trail marathon or 50K. The event takes place at Chino Hills State Park on Saturday at 8AM. For registration info, click here. FYI: DON’T FORGET TO SPRING AHEAD! Set your clocks ahead one hour on Sunday and get ready to enjoy more hours of sunlight later in the day!

Easter Egg-Citement

The 10th Annual Los Angeles County Irish Fair & Music Festival has become the largest festival of its kind in Southern California. Held each March near St. Patrick’s Day, there are 9 stages featuring true Irish music from the likes of Gaelic Storm, Skelpin’, The Mulligans, Diane the Bard, and many more. The Festival is held at the Fairplex at the Pomona Fairgrounds. More than 2,000 performers are featured presenting the best in traditional and contemporary Celtic music, song, dance and pageantry. The Celtic warriors march in the parade at noon and the Ancient Irish Village is filled. Children’s Leprechaun Kingdom offers such family entertainment as carnival rides, games, freckle contests and story tellers. Nearby are sheep herding and Connamara pony exhibitions. Food stalls will be serving up corn beef sandwiches, bangers and giant turkey legs, along with hot dogs, fries and burgers along with traditional corn beef and cabbage and Irish beverages.
